Meet Information: Silver Qualifier

The Silver Qualifier Meet will be held on March 1st - 3rd at the University of Akron. You can sign up for Friday, Saturday, Sunday - one day, two days, or all three days. Events offered for each day are listed below in the meet information. For this meet, all swimmers must have faster than a "B" time in any event in order to swim that event. Time standards are listed here (be sure to scroll to the second page for "Short Course Yards"). If you are unsure if your swimmer qualifies, please contact a NEON coach and they will be glad to help you. 

The morning session will be for 12 & Under girls and boys, and the afternoon session will be for 13 & Over girls and boys.

Lake Erie Silver Qualifier

March 1 – 3, 2013

NEW MEET FORMAT

LOCATION:  Ocasek Natatorium, University of Akron, 382 Carroll Street, Akron, OH

POOL:  The meet will be held in both pools of the Natatorium, which are 25 yards by 8 lanes.  There will NOT be continuous warm-up/warm-down during the competition.

STARTING TIMES: Friday night warm-up will begin at 4:45 p.m. and last for 45 minutes with the meet starting at 5:35 p.m.  Both Saturday and Sunday morning session warm-up will be from 7:40 – 8:25 a.m., with competition starting at 8:30 a.m.  Afternoon warm-up will begin 15 minutes after the conclusion of the morning session. The afternoon session competition will begin after a 45-minute warm-up period.  There will be 5 minutes between warm-up and the beginning of competition.  There will be a 10 minute warm up before the 500 free. Estimated afternoon warm-up times will be posted on the Lake Erie Swimming website by Thursday, February 28, 2013 at www.lakeerieswimming.com

ENTRY FEES: Individual events $4.50; Relays: $9.00; plus a $2.00 per swimmer LESI surcharge. There is also a $3.00 team charge.

ENTRY LIMITATIONS: Swimmers may enter 4 individual events/day exclusive of relays.  Swimmers may compete in no more than 12 individual events for the meet. 

QUALIFYING TIMES: Swimmers must be equal to or faster than a B cut in any event in order to swim that event. 

Teams of swimmers who fail to achieve the qualifying time at the meet will receive a notice of those times that cannot be verified in the SWIMS database.  Teams shall submit proof of time or a fine of $10.00 for each swim listed in the notice.  Failure to resolve time verification issues within one week of receipt of notice shall result in debit to the team’s account in the amount of the fine.

Exception:  A swimmer who ages up from February 25 through March 1, 2013 (after Bronze Champs and before Silver Champs) may enter an event at Silver Champs in which the swimmer had achieved the required time standard for Silver Champs in his/her former age group.  Please make a note of this to the entry chairperson.

SEEDING & CHECK IN:  All events will be seeded on the deck. Swimmers should check in for all of their day’s events prior to the start of warm-up. Check in sheets will be posted on the pool deck.  Heat and lane assignments will be posted in various locations around the facility.  It is the responsibility of each swimmer to report to the blocks on time for his/her event.  There will be NO CLERK OF COURSE. 

ADMISSION COST: $4.00 per Person:           $3.00 for Psych Sheets

NOTE:  Only athletes entered in the meet, working coaches, officials, and meet workers are allowed on deck.  Other non-participants are expected to remain in the spectator area.            THIS WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED!

CAMERA ZONES:  Meet Management shall designate and inform the public of “Camera Zones” at each swim meet where both still and video photography of a race or competition may be taken.  Meet Management shall also designate “No Camera Zones.”  Under NO circumstances will Camera Zones include locker rooms, restrooms, and dressing areas, or the area immediately behind the starting blocks at either end of the racing course(s) while they are in use for race starts during competition and warm-up.  Those failing to abide by this rule may be removed from the venue.

Meet Information: Barbara Kay Mini Champs

The Barbara Kay Mini Champs Meet will be held March 2nd - 3rd at Thomas Worthington High School. This meet is for swimmers aged 8 & under only. This is a really fun meet for the younger swimmers, and they try to make it a really fun experience. Participation trophies are given to every swimmer, and places 1-6 get trophies while 7-12 get ribbons. You can choose to enter Saturday only, Sunday only, or both days.

Barbara Kay Mini Champs Meet

March 2-3, 2013

LOCATION:  C. David Howell Worthington Pools Complex, 400 West Dublin Granville Road (State Route 161), Thomas Worthington High School Campus, Worthington, OH.

STARTING TIMES: Girls swim in the morning session of this meet with boys swimming in the afternoon. Warm-ups will be held from 7:50 – 8:50 a.m. for the morning session, with competition starting at 9:00 a.m.  Afternoon warm-ups will be 1:30 p.m.-2:10 p.m. with competition starting at 2:20 p.m.

ENTRY FEES: Individual Events: $4.00 per individual event
Relay Events: $7.00 per relay team
Ohio Swimming Travel Fund: $1.00 per swimmer
Championship Meet Facility Charge: $1.00 per swimmer

ENTRY LIMITATIONS: Swimmers may enter up to 5 individual events per day.

AWARDS: Trophies will be awarded for places 1-6 and ribbons will be awarded for places 7-12 in 
individual events. Ribbons will be awarded for places 1-6 in relays. Heat ribbons will be 
awarded for all age groups.  Participation trophies will be given to all swimmers upon arrival at 
the pool.  Individual high point and high point runner-up awards will be awarded for each age 
group.  Team trophies for the first and second place teams will be awarded.

The Bronze Qualifier Meet will be held on February 24th at the University of Akron. Swimmers must be slower than a 'B' time in any event in order to swim that event. If a swimmer earns his/her 'B' cut at Bronze Qualifier, they are then eligible to enter the Silver Qualifier Meet.

LESI BRONZE QUALIFIER MEET

February 24, 2013

STARTING TIMES: Both sessions for this meet will be held starting at the same time.  Warm-ups will be held from 7:30 – 8:30 a.m. for all swimmers, with competition starting at 8:35 a.m.  At the discretion of the Meet Safety Director, warm ups may be split by gender or age group or team. 

ENTRY FEES: Individual events $4.50; Relays: $9.00; plus a $2.00 per swimmer LESI surcharge. NO REFUNDS.

ENTRY LIMITATIONS: Swimmers may enter up to 5 individual events and 1 relay event.

QUALIFYING TIMES: Please see event listings.  A swimmer must have a legal time in the event they are entering.  NO “NT” entries will be accepted.  Swimmers times will be verified before they are entered into the meet, this includes deck entered swimmers.  Swimmers must be slower than the qualifying time listed as of the entry deadline. All entries MUST be entered in short course yards.  NO CONVERTED TIMES WILL BE ACCEPTED. 

Disqualified swimmers will be checked for a prior legal time post meet. 

CONDUCT:  All events are timed finals.    Heats will be swum slowest to fastest.  11 & Over swimmers/relay teams shall report promptly to the blocks on time for their heats/events.  There will be a clerk of course for 10 & Under swimmers, to guide them to their starting positions. 

SEEDING & CHECK IN: All individual events as well as all relays will be deck-seeded. All swimmers must check in at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the session. Check-in sheets will be posted in the racquetball courts in the main hallway of the facility.  Any swimmer failing to sign in will not be seeded.  Heat and lane assignments will be posted behind the blocks and in the main hallways on both levels of the facility.  All events except the relays will be seeded together but awards will be given for each individual age classification.  The ages will be as follows: 10 & under, 11-12, 13 & over. 

AWARDS:  Individual Events:  Ribbons for 1^st – 8^th place

        Relay Events: Ribbons for 1^st – 3^rd place

WORK ASSIGNMENTS: This is a Lake Erie championship qualifier meet.  Each team is expected to provide one timer for the meet.  Please see the attached work assignment sheet and return it via email to volunteers@hudsonheat.com.

The Distance Animal Meet will be held on February 10th at Wooster High School. Swimmers 11 & over must be slower than an 'A' time in any event in order to swim that event.

Distance Animal Meet

February 10, 2013

LOCATION:  Wooster High School, Ellen Shapiro Natatorium, 515 Oldman Road, Wooster, OH, 44691

STARTING TIMES: Warm-up will begin at 8:00 a.m. and last 45 minutes with the meet starting at 8:50 a.m. 

ENTRY FEES:  Individual events $7.00 each plus a $2.00 per swimmer surcharge.  There is a $3.00 team fee.

ENTRY LIMITATIONS: Swimmers may enter no more than 2 events. However, it is the expectation that coaches will take the responsibility for monitoring swimmer entries and events.  No break will be taken between events. The meet may be divided into two sessions by age and gender if the number of swimmers entered warrant this happening and we infringe upon the four hour rule.   

QUALIFYING TIMES:  Except as indicated below for 10 & Under swimmers, swimmers may enter only those events offered at Championships for their age as of March 8, 2013, and their entry times must be slower than the qualifying time for Gold Championships for that age group.  Exception: 10 & Under swimmers may enter the 200 breast, 200 back, and/or 200 fly if they are equal to or faster than the NAG B time in the corresponding 100 stroke.  See the attached time standard sheet.  10 & Unders who qualify must enter their best estimate of their time in the 200 strokes. All swimmers must enter with a time even if it is an estimated time.  NT will NOT be accepted.

SLOWER THAN: These meets have times investigated after the meet if a protest is filed.

SEEDING & CHECK IN:  Events will be deck-seeded. Check in sheets will be posted on the pool office windows.  Swimmers should check-in before warm-up and no later than 30 minutes prior to the start of each session.  Heat and lane assignments will be posted on the pool office windows and at other announced locations.  Swimmers who check in for an event and do not compete will be fined $25 per event in accordance with the LESI scratch rule unless the referee determines that failure to compete was due to circumstances beyond the control of the swimmer.

                       

ADMISSIONS:  $5.00 includes psych sheet.  Heat and lane assignments will be posted on the balcony level after the events have been seeded.  Parking is free.

The Fabulous 50's meet will be held on February 2nd at Hubbard Community Pool. There are no time standards for this meet. 

There is only one session for this meet.

Fabulous 50’s

LOCATION: Hubbard Community Pool, 200 Hall Avenue, Hubbard, OH  44425 (formerly 250 Hall Avenue)

STARTING TIMES: Saturday morning session warm-ups will begin at 8am and last 45min. A continuous warm up will be available in a designated area of the diving well. If another session is added due to entries, warm up will begin 15 minutes after the end of the first session and last 45 minutes.  At the discretion of the Meet Safety Director, warm ups may be split by gender or age group or team.  The finalized warm up plan may be found at www.lakeerieswimming.com by January 30, 2013.

ENTRY FEES: Individual events $4.00; Relays: $8.00; plus a $2.00 per swimmer LESI surcharge. There is also a $3.00 team charge.

DECK ENTRIES: Deck entries will be taken on a space available basis up to 35 minutes before the start of the session and seeded at NT. Deck entrants should sign up in the deck entry office @ $8.00 per individual event and $ 11.00 per relay.  Deck entry swimmers new to the meet will be charged $2.00 LESI surcharge and must provide proof of USA Swimming registration.

All relay events will be seeded on the deck.  Relay cards must be turned in upon call in order to be seeded.  ALL SWIMMERS will report to the Clerk of Course.  In accordance with 102.1.4, events may be seeded together but scored separately.
